about the author

Darcy Scott is a former symphony orchestra marketing director who works as a freelance writer and marine industry publicist when she’s not off adventuring. A summa cum laude graduate of Smith College, she’s an experienced ocean cruiser who’s sailed to Grenada and back on a whim, island-hopped through the Caribbean, and been struck by lightning in the middle of the Gulf Stream. Her favorite cruising ground remains the coast of Maine, where she happily stumbled on the very real island of Matinicus, whose honorable people and singularly brutal history she shamelessly draws from in this, her second novel.

Matinicus is the first in a series of three mysteries set on Maine’s sparsely populated out-islands. Darcy is currently finishing the book’s sequel, Reese’s Leap.
